Now that hunting season has started it is the time of year that Silas is extra, extra sweet. He's always sweet to me, but in the fall he's butterin' me up so that I won't be mad if he takes days off work to hunt, or goes on a Saturday or Sunday. This weekend was a fun one, we had a fondue picnic in our living room and then spent the day together Sunday eating junk food...which is my favorite thing to do!! I found a recipe for spicy cheese fondue and for chocolate fondue in a Rachael Ray Magazine. We had beer bread, pretzels, apples, and bacon to dip in the cheese and then pretzels, strawberries, and marshmallows for the chocolate. We sat on a blanket in the living room and just watched TV and ate all night, it was so relaxing. The next morning he was going hunting and was going to be back around 1130. This was perfect because I had found a recipe for pecan rolls that I wanted to try, but I wanted it to be a surprise. I had never made anything like this before and I knew it was going to take me a few hours to get them done. So, I woke up at 800 and got started. I had never tried to make dough that had to rise. So the first 45 minutes of waiting I was a little nervous, but I was pleasantly surprised to find that it had almost doubled its size when I peeked inside the container!! I probably just got lucky, but whatever works! Three hours later I was pulling the pecan rolls out of the oven and making coffee as he was walking in the door! Perfect! We sat down, watched a movie and dug in...I ate two and was very satisfied. I thought they tasted really good. Silas on the other hand, apparently really like them because when we were done eating and I looked into the pan there were only 5 left. This means that he ate 7 that morning! For the rest of the day he had a little tummy ache...he will never learn. The recipe for the pecan rolls was from cooking light, they took a recipe that the rolls were usually 836 calories and 36.5 g of fat and cut them down to 237 calories and 7.6 g of fat. I can't even imagine what the origional recipe tasted like, because these were delicious!

This picture does not do justice to the tastiness of these rolls...but here's a picture anyway, maybe one day i will have a better camera...
